The BORG are no more. After launching a devastating attack on the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, the BORG were wisked away to an unknown galaxy by a powerful species called the Caeliar. But as a result of their invasion, over 63 billion lives were lost and dozens of worlds were decimated or left in ruins.
The Federation bore the brunt of the BORG invasion. Starfleet had been severely weakened having lost 40% of their ships and personnel.
Now 6 years later, much has been done and the reconstruction effort continues but the Alpha and Beta Quadrants had been changed forever. Desperation and piracy have run rampant. Alliances have been strained and new ones have been forged.
The Raeyan Sector has become a key source for the materials and resources needed for the rebuilding efforts of the quadrants. Makkus IV, home to approximately 950 million beings, has become a waypoint for freighters, cargo vessels and other crafts from nearly all corners of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Makkus IV has become a place where entrepreneurs and profiteers come seeking to profit from resource rich Makkus system.
The Federation and Starfleet are tasked with the security of this vital system. Echelon Station does its part to keep the peace and protect Federation interests in the Makkus system.

Episode 1-And So It Begins...
Captain Keltos Jonn assumes command of Starbase 245 "Echelon Station". Trying to put aside his personal dealings, Captain Keltos welcomes his new senior staff and crew to the station.
Echelon Station is busy with activity due to the expansion of the new Geo'van Charter along with continuing reconstruction efforts. The Makkus System, now a major port of call along the trade routes into and out of the Kraz Republic. To make matters more difficult, pirates and scavengers have been raiding freighters and cargo ships along the trade routes in and out of the Makkus System. The pirate raids have led to the loss of life and vital supplies needed for the recovery and rebuilding operations throughout the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. There are also rumors that the Romulans are heading back to their old ways and may be trying to destabilize Federation and Starfleet operations in the Raeyan Sector.
Captain Keltos and the crew of Echelon Station must deal with these challenges and others while securing and protecting Federation interests in the region.
